On November 21 2009 in Gibson Louisiana, a Real Estate Agent was showing the house at 234 Fandall Street to potential buyers, and when in the basement stumbled upon the remains of a cardboard box and about 100 human bones.
The bones are believed to belong to Native Americans from one of two burial mounds which the property is on top of. The previous owner claims that she would find them while mowing the lawn of doing other types of yard work and then just throw them into a cardboard box in the corner of her basement.
The bones were eventually sent to anthropologists at the Louisiana State University and discovered that they could be more than 700 years old and even predate Columbus. It was also discovered that the remains are from at least three adults and one child.
